Looking for a direct-care job that's different from the typical DSP position?

At Life Bridge Services, you aren't responsible for a house full of individuals.

You work one-on-one with one person.

That means you have the time to get to know the individual you support, understand their routines and preferences, build a genuine relationship, and provide the kind of personal attention that is difficult to offer when caring for several people at once.

Imagine going to work in a clean, comfortable home, spending your shift with one individual, helping them enjoy their day—and on qualifying overnight shifts, having your own private bedroom with a lock while getting paid during scheduled sleep hours.

And for team members who want to earn more, additional hours and overtime opportunities are available and encouraged.

That's what makes working at Life Bridge Services different.

We provide personalized residential support for adults with developmental disabilities in the Canton area. Our goal isn't simply to provide "care." We help the individuals we serve build enjoyable, independent lives filled with friendships, activities, community involvement and the comforts of home.

And we believe the people providing that support deserve a great work environment too.

WHY DIRECT CARE WORKERS CHOOSE LIFE BRIDGE

✓ ONE-ON-ONE SUPPORT

This may be the biggest difference between Life Bridge and many other direct-care positions.

You are supporting one individual—not several people at the same time.

This allows you to:

  • Focus your attention on one person's needs
  • Build a meaningful relationship
  • Learn their personality, routines and preferences
  • Spend more time enjoying activities together
  • Provide more thoughtful and personalized care
  • Work at a more comfortable and manageable pace

You aren't moving from resident to resident or trying to divide your attention between multiple people.

One individual. One relationship. Personalized support.

✓ GET PAID DURING SCHEDULED SLEEP HOURS

On qualifying overnight shifts, you'll have scheduled sleep time—and you're compensated for those hours.

✓ YOUR OWN PRIVATE SLEEPING ROOM

Overnight staff have a separate bedroom with a lock, giving you privacy and a comfortable place to rest.

✓ OVERTIME IS AVAILABLE

Want to earn more?

Additional hours and overtime opportunities are available and encouraged for dependable team members who want them.

For employees looking to maximize their weekly income, Life Bridge offers opportunities to pick up additional shifts as scheduling needs allow.

✓ A CALM, COMFORTABLE HOME ENVIRONMENT

This is not a hospital or institutional setting.

You work in a clean, comfortable and inviting home supporting one individual.

✓ THOUGHTFULLY SELECTED INDIVIDUALS

Life Bridge is selective about the individuals and home environments we support.

The individuals we work with are non-violent and carefully selected for temperament and compatibility with our model of care.

Our goal is to create a safe, comfortable environment for both the individual receiving support and the Direct Care Worker providing it.

✓ BUILD A REAL RELATIONSHIP

Because you're working one-on-one, you have an opportunity that many direct-care jobs don't provide—the ability to truly get to know the person you're supporting.

You may share meals, go shopping, attend community activities, watch a movie, run errands, visit a park or simply spend time talking together.

You're not just completing tasks.

You're becoming a trusted and important part of someone's life.

✓ PEOPLE ACTUALLY STAY HERE

Many members of our direct-care team have been with Life Bridge for 10 years or longer.

In an industry known for high turnover, we believe that says something important about the relationships, work environment and type of care Life Bridge provides.

WHAT DOES A DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL DO?

Your job is to help one adult with developmental disabilities live a safe, enjoyable and independent life in their home and community.

A typical shift may include:

  • Spending time with and getting to know the individual you support
  • Helping with healthy daily routines and activities
  • Going to restaurants, stores, parks, events or other community activities
  • Assisting with transportation and appointments
  • Preparing meals
  • Helping maintain a clean and comfortable home
  • Providing appropriate assistance with daily living needs
  • Following the individual's support plan and Life Bridge safety procedures
  • Communicating important information with other members of the support team
  • Encouraging independence whenever possible
  • Treating the individual you support with dignity, respect, patience and kindness

Some days may be active and include outings or appointments.

Other days may involve cooking dinner, watching a movie, playing a game, talking or simply enjoying time together.

It is meaningful work—but it doesn't have to feel institutional or clinical.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for people who are:

Kind. Reliable. Patient. Responsible. Trustworthy.

You don't necessarily need to be someone who has spent your entire career in direct care.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys people and understands that simply being dependable, patient and present can make an enormous difference in another person's life.

Prior direct-care experience is valuable, but your character, dependability and ability to connect with people are just as important.

Life Bridge provides a thorough training program along with continued support as you become comfortable and confident in your position.
